The Wrestling Observer/Figure Four Online is reporting that WWE had indeed originally planned to use Mae Young in the 25 Diva Battle Royal at WrestleMania 25. However, the decision was made to abandon the original plans to include Young in the matchup when WWE officials were reminded of the scare they had the last time she was in the ring and had an awkward fall which resulted in a luckily minor injury. WWE then decided to go with Plan B and ultimately ended up using Joy Giovanni in the match as a substitute for Mae Young - not that anyone watching the PPV would have realized who was actually in the Diva Battle Royal due to a poor attention span or a simple lack of interest in the match by the WWE during WrestleMania.
