It has been reported that Batista told WWE officials that his rehab had been running ahead of schedule several weeks ago, and had been very vocal about returning to Raw as soon as possible. His surprise return last Monday night came much sooner than had been expected and it is feared that at his age it might not have been a smart move to bring him back in before he was fully healed.
It has also been reported that Batista had asked company officials for time off prior to his injury to rest up, as he had been physically burnt out and was suffering from some persistent minor injuries that had been nagging him. However, with several other Raw superstars making similar claims at the time, he was asked to subdue and work through the pain. It was felt that the product was unable to hold up in his absence and that it was crucial he remained on TV; which of course led to Batista suffering a hamstring injury which has now kept him out of action for several months.
